Mar. 5th, 2024 02:17 amToday I had my foreign language (english) exam. Obviously, since I've been consistently using english in conversations for the last like 10 years of my life it wasn't hard at all.
I programmed my next exam (math) and turns out it'll be in.. two weeks. I didn't realize it would be so soon and I've been having some very slow progress with my studying, which caused me to have a small anxiety attack. Yikes.
I need to have a conversation with my mom about the rate at which I will be taking these exams. Because I think she's going to try to insist I program another exam soon but two weeks is not enough time to study at all. I just feel weird because I don't want to argue with her. She's well meaning but refuses to let me make my own decisions about this and keeps trying to argue with me about how I manage my exams and it's so stress inducing. I'll talk to her tomorrow.
In other news, I've been binge watching Rupaul's Drag Race and it's been a delight. I used to be a huge fan of the show so it feels weird being away from the community around it. This show is a bit of a mess, as a lot of reality tv is, but it's good entertainment. I cannot wait to get to season 3, because I absolutely love Raja and I really want to see her outfits again. I was googling them to see what they were up to nowadays and turns out they now go by they/them (out of drag). Good for them, I thought that was cool to learn.
Today I also watched a little more of the KFP nick series. I am on season 2 currently. It's still imperfect but I do feel like this season has been better than the first one. Po's characterization is still awful but the actual plots of the episodes have been more entertaining and they've introduced interesting threats and lore. So I'm actually enjoying it more now.
I also finally finished the current Monster High cartoon. I quite liked it. I have sooo many thoughts about it, but I want to make a youtube video about it at some point so I want to save my opinions for that. But overall it did a good job with its lore and the characters were enjoyable for the most part. I really liked how they handled Toralei in those later episodes.
My personal favorite ghoul is absolutely Lagoona. G1 Lagoona was a character I never cared too much about because it felt like she had so little going for her. She never really stood out the way other characters did and she got very little in terms of development. But G3 Lagoona is a riot. She has so much personality and was incredibly memorable to me. I really wish I could get one of her dolls because I love her color palette and the translucent legs are such a unique detail but I just haven't seen any Monster High dolls where I live. Some day...
