So today I'm having some messy, complicated thoughts. Tw for mentions of pedophilia.

One youtuber I've been following for a while now is in an age gap relationship. Which is not an issue because she is an adult woman and from the glimpses I've seen of their relationship, she seems genuinely happy. Recently she made a video talking about the uncomfortable, dimissive comments she dealt with for being with an older man and how people would often accuse her husband of being horrible things for merely being in a relationship with her.

I am not against age gap relationships between consenting adults by any means. However something she said has been on my mind, and not in a good way. I don't remember how exactly she worded this, but she basically said that maturity and power imbalance can't be measured in the clear cut way people want it to be. And I agree with this, but it left me thinking.

If maturity is a flexible thing then, why do we draw the line at minors instead of treating it as a case by case thing? My concern is that this idea, which is reasonable, may be used to prey on underage people. In fact I've seen predators say similar things, which is what bothers me.

And here is my concern. I want to be supportive of adults in age gap relationships, because I think it gets demonized too harshly and the younger person is often grossly infatilized. But I'm not sure how to do that in a way that predators don't also benefit from.

It causes me great anxiety to think about. Possibly due to my own history of trauma but whatever.

Kinda want to post some of my mlp headcanons but they are very disorganized. I guess I'll start with some identity headcanons for the mane 6.

Twilight is bisexual and demiromantic. She's autistic and has generalized anxiety and OCD.

Rainbow Dash is a bigender (female/demimasc) lesbian and uses she/he pronouns. She has ADHD.

Pinkie Pie is a bisexual lesbian and polyamorous. She's genderfluid but very fem leaning. Her pronouns are she/he/they/party, in no real order. She just has fun with gender. She has ADHD and is autistic.

Rarity is bisexual, although she does prefer men.

Fluttershy is a trans woman, polyamorous and a lesbian. She has a social anxiety disorder. She also has an undiagnosed disability that somewhat impairs her flight ability. This last part is me projecting <3

Applejack is a bi lesbian, although the bi part is more of an afterthought to her because she's almost exclusively attracted to women. She's entirely cis but does go by she/he because it fits her presentation.

Some other characters I think have fun identities:

Sunburst is a trans man and bisexual. He has ADHD and an anxiety disorder.

Trixie is a trans woman and bisexual. She has ADHD.

Starlight is a lesbian.

Discord is some flavor of gender queer. Pronouns are he/they/it.

Celestia is pan.

Luna is a lesbian and autistic.

Cadance is pan.

Chyrsalis is agender and aromantic. Pronouns are they/she.

Sombra is a trans man and bisexual.

Thorax is enby but masc leaning. Pronouns are he/they/it.

Vinyl Scratch is a bisexual trans man and goes by he/him. He's mute and autistic.

I have plenty more but these should be good for now. Equestria is a very queer place in my head.

(If I didn't specify any pronouns it's because I just view them as using the same ones they go by in canon)
